about
“Lethal Dose” is about the aftermath of a volatile codependent relationship. When a relationship like this ends, it can feel like you’re grieving the death of a loved one. Sometimes we don’t handle this break up with grace, but rather with self destructive behavior and unhealthy coping mechanisms. The main character is in a constant battle with a “demon” throughout the duration of the song. The “demon” is symbolic and represents her past struggles with alcohol, self hatred, anger issues, and pretty much all of the worst parts of her. As she’s navigating this break up, these past issues start to present themselves again in her life. She goes through a whirlwind of emotions trying to get a handle on her grief and the current situation she’s in. Each color of lighting represents a different stage of grief. Green = denial, blue = depression, and red = anger. While the 7 stages of grief can be helpful in identifying what you’re feeling, it’s important to remember, there is no “wrong” way to grieve. While grief is universal, the way we grieve is not. What may work for others, may not work for you. Be kind to yourself, nurture yourself, and ask for help. You are loved, you are important, and this world wouldn’t have the same twinkle without you
lyrics
Crashing and confined
Could I linger in your view
I close my eyes
On a lethal dose of you
I’m your perfect shade of blue
(I’m your perfect shade of)
Blue
(I’m your perfect shade of)
Blue
(I’m your perfect)
I’ll have forgotten what I went through
When I run out of you
I’ll have forgotten what I’ve been through
Can I blame it all on you?
I’ll have forgotten what I’ve been through
On my way to a
Desolate overdose
Of me hating you
I’ll have forgotten
I’ll have forgotten
Find me on a bridge
While I’m passing on the view
Frozen on your lips
Like I'm cold behind the wheel
I’m your perfect shade of Blue
(I’m your perfect shade of)
Blue
(I’m your perfect shade of)
Blue
(Not your perfect)
I’ll have forgotten what I went through
When I run out of you
I’ll have forgotten what I’ve been through
Can I blame it all on you?
I’ll have forgotten what I’ve been through
On my way to a
Desolate overdose
Of me hating you
I’ll have forgotten
I’ll have forgotten
I’m your perfect shades of blue
Is this the shade you’d choose?
Just tell me and I’ll change my name
Break and shape my skin for you
Anything else can I do
To leave my memory to you?
I am forgotten
I am forgotten
I’ll have forgotten what I went through
When I run out of you
I’ll have forgotten what I’ve been through
Can I blame it all on you?
I’ll have forgotten what I’ve been through
On my way to a
Desolate overdose
Of me hating you
I’ll have forgotten
I’ll have forgotten
